I tell you, it was murderous! Technically when the day started I was having real problems with my computer. I ended up staying up until 2 am trying to get it to work right. You see, it kept telling me that I hadn’t passed Age of Mythology yet, so I just had to disabuse it of that notion. So, around 2am I finally gave up and went to sleep.
I woke up this morning bright and early and not at all ready to face the day. I regained consciousness right at the perfect moment to hear my computer make the little “ahem!” sound that I had programmed it to make when I got e-mail. It wasn’t the HAPPIEST news that I could get (in other words, it wasn’t them telling me if I had gotten into the History programme, though I am expecting word within a week), but it was still pretty darn good! MY ONLY CLASS WAS CANCELLED! YAY! So after doing a small rendition of the Happy Dance (it’s very graceful), I went back to bed until 11.
Then I was supposed to get up, have some breakfast, and get straight to work on my essay. But you see, my computer was still broken, so I had to work on that until finally at 1:30 I had finally convinced it that I had, in fact, beaten AoM. Yay for me. Then I proceeded to, with the focus of a worker bee, not do anything productive for the rest of the day. Oh sure, I installed the Age of Mythology: Titans Expansion Pack and beat the first several levels. I also chatted with the ever-lovely Meggan Ladewig online for a while (when she should have been working, naughty girl!) . . . but other than that, well, I’ve been a bum!
I should say in my own defense that I have been exagerating just a bit though. I only beat two levels of the Titans version of AoM. Plus I also did some online research for my essay and even wrote the teacher for her opinion on some ideas I had about what I’d write. I’m not saying it’s gonna be easy, but I’m hoping it won’t kill me!
That’s me. I just wanted to let you all know what a long and difficult day I had! 😀
STOP!!! STOP THE PRESSES!
I got this e-mail when I was writing this. If I was Islamic I would say “Praise Allah.” Oh what the hell. Praise Allah!
Dear Mr Rhodes
Dr Adams mentioned to me that you were keen to know how
your application was progressing because
of accommodation issues. This is just a note to let you know
that we at the Centre have
recommended your acceptance, subject to funding. It will now
be passed to the Higher Degrees Committee for
approval before you can be formally notified of our decision.
I hope this helps!
Best wishes Katie Lowe (Director of Centre)
So yeah, that makes me happy. Does that make anyone else happy? I’m happy. Are you happy? ‘Cause I’m happy.
“I’m doing the happy dance!
I’m doing the happy dance!
I’m doing the happy dance!”
