So I’ve been accepted . . .

That’s kinda a no brainer if you were quick enough to read that letter that was displayed on the splash page. If you weren’t however, you can view it here. What it basically says is that I have indeed been accepted to the MPhil programme for Medieval and Renaissance Studies in History, however it is an acceptance which is based on the condition that I provide written proof of funding . . . which may be a problem.

You see, the amount of funding we’re talking about is £8,000, which, with today’s exchange rate, is almost $16,000. No small chunk of change. I would say “I’ll just continue on with my student loans to pay for it,” but I have discovered that I am limited to a maximum of $120,000 in loans for my entire education career. Considering the fact that I have already pulled out $44,000, this means that I’m going to be strapped for cash REALLY quick. In fact, it pretty much means that if I only pull out enough cash to pay for tuition each of the next five years (which is how long I’ll likely be here), I’ll probably use up the full 120 grand. That of course doesn’t even include rent, food, entertainment, or any sort of travel (including coming home to visit).

So my point I guess is that any of people out there are reading this are in fact millionaires and haven’t told me yet, now would be the time to do so! I promise to teach your kids really amazing stuff about history once I get through with all this stuff . . .

That’s about it for me right now. I’m about to miss the usual archaeology talk that occurs every Friday. I know that’s bad of me, but I’m really having problems bringing myself to care! It’s just so boring!!!

Slainte.

“A little less conversation, a little more action please
All this aggravation ain’t satisfactioning me
A little more bite and a little less bark
A little less fight and a little more spark
Close your mouth and open up your heart and baby satisfy me
Satisfy me, Baby!”
~Elvis Presley – “A Little Less Conversation”
