It’s a bit odd. Went from posting almost daily to nothing for a whole week. You folks must have either been A) worried about me or B) really happy to not have to read my ramblings. The truth is I really haven’t had much to say for the past while, so haven’t really bothered writing anything. Didn’t think anyone would appreciate me complaining about being bored!
And actually, I really don’t have that much to say now either. Yesterday was ugly and I did something that I’m really not proud of, but I saw it as the only alternative. A lot of you out there know what I’m talking about. Those who don’t . . . well . . . tough. There really hasn’t been much going on or else believe me I would tell you about it. I guess I can say that I went to see a movie this week. Saw The Day After Tomorrow with Chris on Wednesday. I liked it. I have to admit that even for a hippy like me they bashed us over the head pretty hard with some unnecessary ideological preaching. There can be no doubt that the main message is that the Greenhouse Effect is gonna kill us all. But despite that, I still enjoyed it (and Chris and I both especially enjoyed Emmy Rossum, who will also be playing Christine opposite the ‘weege Gerard Butler as the Phantom in the upcoming The Phantom of the Opera. I’m sure my family is excited!).
Wow that was a lot of links. What can I say? I’ve been IMDB happy recently. Oh! Forgot to tell you that I’ve now posted pictures from the Cocktail Party. There are a couple of vaguely embarrassing ones of certain people (sorry Erin!), but they gave me permission to put them up!
I think that’s about it actually. No, I was wrong. There is something else. They’ve recently been showing a music video a lot by a band called Faithless, which isn’t the sort of stuff I normally listen to. Dance music mostly. Interestingly enough though, the producer of the band is Dido’s big brother (and helped her with most of her stuff), the lead instrumentalist is a classically trained pianist, and the lead singer is a kinda goofy looking skinny black guy who is a devout practicing Buddhist. An interesting mix. Anyway, the song is called “Mass Destruction”, and I really dig it. For those of you who don’t have problems with some of the stuff going on in the world right now, don’t bother reading the lyrics. But for those who do, you shouldn’t only read the lyrics, but also go buy the CD. Very cool stuff by an interesting band.
OK, now I’m done. Stay chill.
“With a long range weapon or suicide bomber
Wicked mind is a weapon of mass destruction
Whether you’re stowaway’s son or BBC 1
Dis-information is a weapon of mass destruction”
